White Sturgeon Trips

Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River is widely considered some of the best in the world! The Pacific Northwest, especially Oregon and Washington, boasts more keeper and oversized sturgeon than anywhere else on the planet. We typically target these giants from late March till early December. These prehistoric fish can reach astonishing lengths of 6 to 12 feet and weigh up to 1,000 pounds!

Sturgeon are ancient survivors, living for over a century and dating back to the age of dinosaurs. Catching them by the dozens each day makes the Columbia River one of the world's premier sturgeon fisheries. With sharp, armor-like scoots along their sides and back, they're well protected from natural predators such as seals and sea lions. Anglers use a variety of baits and travel to numerous prime locations along the river to hook into these true river giants.

What to Bring and Where to Meet

What to Bring: Either a Washington or Oregon fishing license with Columbia River endorsement and harvest card, clothes to suit the season, and snacks and drinks for the day.

What to Wear: Dress for the weather. Mornings on the Columbia can be cold, especially in early spring and late fall, so layers, a windbreaker, and a warm hat go a long way. Summer days warm up fast, so plan accordingly.

When & Where to Meet: We use many different launch locations along the Columbia River based on time of year and weather. Charles will check in with you a day or two before your trip to confirm exact start time and meeting location.
